His three sons, Stephen, Howard and Brian continued to develop the business with the same work ethic and entered into the picture framing industry in the 1970's. Occupying some 400,000 square feet and employing over 500 people, Simons are now established as market leader. In the 1980's Emafyl was established with its production of extruded polystyrene and in 1996 received the Queen's Award for Export Achievement. Since then the fourth generation, Daniel, Anthony, Robert and Amanda have joined the company to ensure the family commitment and service to our customers continues well into the 21st century . We have never forgotten that a company is only as successful as its customers. Extensive Showroom Display Situated at our head office in Hackney Road, is 3500 sq feet of showrooms where you can see on display over 4000 mouldings, mount board, ready-made frames, fittings, sundries, artist materials, oil paintings, wood turnery and a hands-on machine workshop. If you wish to visit, we will warmly welcome you, offering help and assistance to meet all your needs. Many customers, who phone us first with an order so we can have it ready on their arrival, use the trade counter. Our opening hours are: Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 5.15pm (closed between
1.00-2.00 daily)
We provide a free moulding sample service. Normal length is 4" with a 12" option if you wish to make your own chevron. We also supply ready-made chevrons by special request. Simons
is a long established family business that has been in existence
for over 102 years. Founded by Davis Simons in 1900 after
emigrating from his native Russia, he created a hard working, energetic
company which is still apparent today. Succeeded by his son, Jack,
the company was first established as a manufacturer and supplier
to the reproduction furniture industry.
